Home Heating with BioHeat

BioHeat oil is a blend of regular heating oil and biodiesel. It is the fastest growing alternative fuel in America, providing numerous benefits to the homeowner, environment, and the domestic agriculture economy. It is a healthy alternative for your home heating system and the environment. Key advantages include:

Glycerin

Glycerin is a by-product of biodiesel. Before it is completely refined, biodiesel contains unused catalyst and soaps. These are neutralized with an acid, the water and alcohol are removed, leaving 80-88% pure crude glycerin. In some cases, formed during this phase is recovered for use as fertilizer. In most cases, the salt is left in the glycerin.

In more sophisticated operations, the glycerin is distilled to 99% or higher purity and sold into the cosmetic and pharmaceutical markets.
