Company Overview
General Biodiesel Inc. (GBI) is based in Seattle, Washington, and incorporated in 2006. It is focused on producing biodiesel fuel from recycled used cooking oil and animal fats, collectively referred to as "waste oil".
GBI is committed to creating biodiesel fuel from truely renewable resouces--waste oil. Yale W. Wong, founder and CEO, made a conscious decision to recycle and utilize waste oil as its primary choice feedstock from the beginning. The collection and recycling of waste oil takes additional labor and processing efforts. However, he determined that recycling is the more environmentally responsible and ethically sound business practice; thereby generating positive energy and prolonging our natural resources.
We are at a critical juncture in our energy history. The United States is a net importer of oil at 60% and consumes approximately 25% of the world's supply while making up only 4% of the world's poplulation. Furthermore, we will be competing for limited resources of oil with the rising demand from developing nations, including China and India.
GBI is dedicated to energy and economic security. We need to secure our domestic sources of fuel, and GBI is part of that solution. For every gallon of biodiesel fuel produced, we can expand the volume of diesel fuel available for domestic consumption. This will also ensure our continued economic growth and boost our local economy through clean sector jobs and redirect funds to local businesses that would otherwise be spent on foreign oil.
